BBpicks ("BBpicks," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at bbpicks.com and related services (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address, phone number, and/or third-party identifier (e.g. Google or Apple user ID), plus a display name and optional avatar you provide.
- Gameplay information. The groups you join, the picks you make, scores, rankings, and activity within the Service.
- Technical information. IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, and similar diagnostic data, collected automatically when you visit the Service.
- Communications. Records of messages, support requests, or notifications you exchange with us.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Show your activity, picks, and standings to other members of groups you join.
- Send service-related communications (sign-in codes, game updates, account notices). You may opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
- Analyze usage to understand how the Service is performing and to develop new features.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: Your display name, avatar, picks, and activity are visible to other members of any group you join.
- With service providers: We use third parties to host the Service, send messages, and run authentication. These currently include Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), MailerSend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS delivery), Cloudflare (security and networking), and OAuth providers (Google, Apple) when you choose to sign in with them. Each handles your data under their own terms.
- For legal reasons: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BBpicks, our users, or others.
- In a business transaction: If BBpicks is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can disable cookies through your browser, but parts of the Service may not function properly without them.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
Your Choices
- Access and update. You can view and update your profile information at any time from your account settings.
- Delete your account. Contact us to request deletion. Removal of associated gameplay history may be limited where it would affect the integrity of other users' standings.
- Communications. You can opt out of non-essential email or SMS notifications via the in-app preferences or by replying STOP to SMS messages.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
International Users
BBpicks is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
